Match Reports v Wiltshire 11th March
County PoolAs always a good start was vital and despite going 3-1 down early on we rallied well to take the first leg 6-5. This proved to be the springboard we needed. The spirit in the team was first class with all the boys getting behind each other, and with some quality clearances we went on to dominate the second leg, taking it 8-3 to lead 14-8 at halfway.

However, this is a quality Wiltshire side and they were never likely to just lie down. The third leg started with them taking the first 5 to bring them right back into it at 14-13. We dug in well and managed to split the remaining frames to go into the vital last leg at 17-16 up.

With a run of poor results behind us it was essential that we stayed positive. The early frames were tight and we found ourselves locked at 18-18. From that point on though it was all Gloucestershire. The standard was top quality with some great clearances. The two young guys coming in did themselves proud with the older heads showing that they have still got what it takes.

In the end we ran out deserved 24-20 winners - A cracking result. Everyone came out of the game with credit with 6 of the guys recording 3 out of 4. However, a special mention must go to the young guys who came in. Jon Coleman played some great stuff and Man Of The Match Elliott Coombe showed that he is starting to live up to his potential. Keep it going boys!

This county season starts here - Bring on Oxfordshire!

Mens B Report:
Complete opposite start from last month losing the 1st section 8-3, once again some frames that should of been won were thrown away. 2nd section pretty much same story losing 7-4 giving away needless frames with one bad shot , 3rd section started to look better even though we lost it 6-5 .4th section started well and the win still looked on even if the odds were against us , started to looked like the B team of last season eventually winning the section 8-3 , Case of waking up to late and losing frames we should of won , some good performances on the day even though we lost 24-20 , MofM Ben Jenkins with 4 out of 4 , John Gore 3 out of 4 and Stu Palmer continued his good start to the season with 3 out of 4 . We do need to start looking at ourselves and stop making silly mistakes that cost us frames we should win............
Hopefully next month will be the turn around and we can start getting the results!!!!

Youth Report
This Sunday was the first time our Young side have played in the 147 club. Our team included three new players. Ben Cuthbert & Jay Phelps from the Forest, and Harry Elliott from Tewkesbury. We got of to a flying start winning 8 of the first 11 frames. This run continued into the second leg with our side winning another 8 out of 11 frames. Our side were bursting with confidence as we started the second half. The first frame in the second half was Sam Oniel (England trialist) vrs Owen Bennett (our youngest player). Owen won this frame and went on to win all his frames to get MOM. This was the start of our best leg of the day, in which we took 9 frames. We only won 7 frames in the last leg, with Wilts coming on strong in the last few frames (taking 3 out of 4 of them). Well done to Ben Cuthbert for winning all his games on his debut. Well done to Andy Jones, Josh Freemantle and Owen Bennett for winning all four of their games too.
